Church of st. Cyril and Methodius – former synagogue

Roman Catholic Church of Cyril and Methodius – the former synagogue. It is on the list of national cultural heritage Monuments of the Slovak Constitution. According to the list it has been built in the first half of the 19th century in classicist style. Dating of the building is not consistent with the statements of the historical records of Slovenské Nové Mesto. In fact, the building was erected in 1931. These times in the village was large Jewish community and the current building had erected as a synagogue. The construction funded Dr. Grunwald, who worked there as a local doctor.

Interesting fact: he former synagogue is on the list of national cultural monuments.
