County house

In the village Zemplín, which perhaps gave the name to the whole region, in 1299 starting interfered the county council. Originally the castle, which was the residence of Drughet, was a newly built County House, which still dominates in the centre of the village. Renaissance building was built between 1666 – 1668 served its original purpose, thus meeting the county council nearly 150 years until the county seat moved to Sátoraljaújhely. In the second half of the 20th century it served as a granary and was owned by former collective farm. When in the ’90s became the property of the village was largely devastated.
